Our family has such a strong connection to this island. It is truly our place of happy memories. We stayed the last two weeks of July 2007 (reservations made by my sister Laurie Henry). and the house and yard were perfect. Very quiet and clean. Our parents spent thier honey moon on the island. My sister and I have been coming here since 1960 and this is the best place we have stayed. Can't wait to come back next year. My nephew will be getting married on the island next May 3rd so we are hoping to rent the house for a few days then.

and friends.
We loved our time there and truly
enjoyed this lovely home. The
atmosphere was great! It was lovely
and peaceful and we fully enjoyed just
staying in.
Everything was close and we felt so at

| We celebrated our 30th wedding anniv. (belated) in this wonderful house. Everything Mark says is true! Our only suggestion would be to have more info. in house about "how to", especially if you are a first-time visitor to the Island, as we were. We notice that all the reviews have given a "10" .. so, if that is not enough for you, probably you should go elsewhere ! We used the yard a lot, as we love birds, and BBQ-ing (gotta get your own briquets, etc.), unless some kind person has left you some (we did).Maybe having a golf cart available at the house, would have allowed us to spread our wings more - of course, there are always the rentals, altho a bit pricey. Thanks again to Mark for sharing such a wonderful property. |

As a wedding gift to my niece and new nephew we rented your lovely house in Avalon. The house was cozy and inviting and had everything we needed including towels and linens, which made the trip most enjoyable.
The back yard and herb garden was an added bonus. It was the perfect place to relax, after a day of exploring and adventure on the island.
The special added touches of a small library, movie videos and the framed antique postcards from Catalina make this more than a vacation rental, but truly a home away from home. |

Thanks to all previous reviewers. Everything mentioned in the reviews below is 100% accurate, and this home is a great place to enjoy for a few days or a few weeks.
My wife and kids (1 and 3) spent a full week at the property, and my kids keep asking when we can go back. The backyard is perfect for the kids and a great place to bask in the sunshine and BBQ up your favorite goodies. The property is 3 blocks from the downtown/ferry and 2-3 blocks from the Von's grocery store.

Mark, James and I had a wonderful time in Avalon at your home for
three nights last week. Although it rained our first day there, our
spirits were high just to be in such a great place where relaxation
came so easily and the beauty of the area so enjoyable.
Thanks again for the opportunity. It was great staying in a home-like
place rather than a one-bedroom hotel room which can get so cramped. I
do hope you get to enjoy your place a lot each year.

| Had a great time and didn't have to break the bank! It was my son's 15th birthday, and he very much wanted to take a few friends to Catalina, but my concern was the cost. | We were so blessed to have found a home like this one. The back yard was great to have our B.B.Q. and enjoy. Our children were able to visit it worked out perfect. My wife and I are Ministers and this was the perfect place to go and relax. I would recommend this house to everyone. We are planning on returning next year if the Lord permits. Thanks again. |

| On our first trip to Avalon the three of us had the pleasure of spending five nights in this lovely home. This home away from home was well equiped including everything from linens and and towels to boardgames and movies. The home was quite spacious and was located in a friendly neighborhood. Everything is within walking distance. My six year old son who said he had the time of life was reluctant to leave for home. Thank you again and we look forward to staying again soon. |

The home was perfect for my sister and I and our 3 young kids. They were able to run in around in the backyard, which most rental homes do not have. Conveniently located and quiet. The home had everything we needed except the groceries!! We will be back.

The owner of this home is a very down-to-earth kind person and very ethical and honest. The house is within walking distance to everything on the island. It's affordable, nice and I love the tile sink in the bathroom, it's gorgeous! The neighbor with the coveted key was very nice and had a nice rapport with the owner. A really nice experience, and I will definately take my son sometime soon as it's also great for kids.

I highly recommend that you stay here if planning a trip to Catalina. |

| I was afraid to write a review about Mark's house, where we have stayed each of the last four years for a week, fearing someone would find this gem and book my favorite week! Silent no more, let me just tell you - Eureka (You've found it!) Everything about this place is perfect, including the owner. Who ever heard of having a real back yard in Avalon?? My wife's mother grew up on Catalina and I've been coming since I was 10 years old, and let me tell you, I feel like I've found the golden nugget of the island. Enjoy! |

| I just returned from a great trip to Catalina. As Mark warned me that he was putting new furniture in his home near or during the time of my stay, I was a little apprehensive before leaving. I was going stir crazy at home in Nebraska, so I decided to go for it. Great decision. Not only was the new furniture and BBQ a plus (the BBQ grill is AWESOME), but the gorgeous weather was just what I needed. The only problem with your place, Mark, is that it is sooo hard to leave. |

This was our first trip to Catalina Island and a memorable one it was. What a great place!!! We saw Mark's house on the Internet and took a chance on it and we are very glad we did. Very charming home, quite comfortable and close to town, within walking distance of all the shops and beach. The only thing I would change would be the hideabed downstairs. It was a little uncomfortable for adults, but would probably be ok for children. Thanks for sharing your home Mark. We left you a thank you gift on your kitchen shelf. | some friends and i visited the beautiful island of catalina over the holidays, and what a perfect way to ring in the new year! though we have stayed on catalina a few different times and share plenty fond of memories in which we love to revel, these accommodations rank among the very top. from the moment we discovered this house over the internet to the day my deposit was returned to me, i was impressed with the superior level of care, detail and professionalism presented in all communications. the house itself is tucked away on the quiet street of clemente, and is just a few minutes' walk from the ferry dock. (for those who have never been to catalina, the town of avalon is only one square mile, so most everything, including a host of entertainment venues [restaurants, bars, etc], sporting activities and historic landmarks, is accessible by foot.) the house is clean, spacious and well-equipped—a definite must-stay for all! |

My husband and three year old son just returned from Catalina.
We really liked the house, the layout was perfect. You have two bedrooms, one with a bonus room including a sofa bed: perfect for our son to cuddle in.
My bed was super comfortable and I appreciated the down comforter.
Downstairs, we enjoyed the open kitchen to the living room and loved the backyard.
The neighborhood was very nice and central. You walk less than 5 minutes to the beach and all the shopping/eating in Avalon is very nearby.
The office staff for this property was very professional, nice and swift. I had misplaced my papers and received new ones right away. VERY friendly contact with Floyd and Mark.

| Catalina is great: you take the boat to the island; feel the stress of daily life melt away and prepare to have a great vacation. I can't imagine a better way to do it than this rental. It has all the amenities of home - if your home was arranged by a thoughtful person who wanted you to have a fun and relaxing stay. Result: my wife and I sleep better at this rental than at home! And this is in the middle of Avalon, close to everything. |

| I visited Catalina for the first time this last March, and I was very pleased with the overall experience. Mark and his assistant were very helpful; they were able to answer every question I had about how to get to the island, and even what to do while I was there. The house is very cozy and it is close to all of the restaurants and shops. It truly was well worth the amount that I paid, which is a bargain, especially when you compare it to the price of a hotel room. I definitely plan to come back every year, because Catalina is a great place for a vacation. In fact, I am planning to stay at Mark's home again, the next time I visit Catalina. |

| All the comforts of home on a beautiful island retreat. The location is perfect. We had planned to rent a golf cart to do our running around, but the house was so close to everything we didn't need it. We slept in late and had breakfast at home a few days. One evening we stayed in and had a barbecue in the back yard. It was so nice to have a home to come back to after our daily activities. Catalina is beautiful. We golfed, shopped, went kayaking, one day we rented a little powerboat and had a picnic in a little cover half way to Two Harbors. The weather was perfect, the night life was great, the whole trip was just fantastic. We are planning to make this an annual event. Many thanks to Mark for sharing his home. |

| This is a great house in a super location, easy walking distance to the important places, golf, beach and Vons. It is a perfect beach house, not too fancy, quite livable. It is equipped with everything that you need, down to the interesting books and beach chairs. Having a washer and dryer was a real plus for our active family. There are plenty of sleeping places for teenagers, both bedrooms are nice and the closets are very large, great for the child that needs extra privacy. The backyard is a treat to have, with room to barbeque and plenty of room to let the scuba gear dry off. The neighbors/manager are great, kind and helpful. |

| My boyfriend and I stayed at this condo for a week in early October. It was very comfy and we were able to save some money by shopping at a local grocer and cooking a few of our own meals. There were thoughtful little notes all over the condo letting us know all kinds of things about the island from where to eat to what kinds of food to what to do and where. this was definitely one of the best and most convenient vacation homes I ever stayed in. |

We came to Catalina Island to get
married May 19th. We rented Mark's
house on Clemente for a week and
another condo at Hamilton Cove where
the wedding was taking place. Of the
two rentals, Mark's home felt like
home. It was central to everything,
very comfortable, and kid friendly.
The house is nicely decorated, fully
equipped, the queen beds very cozy,
and the backyard perfectly suited for
relaxation. Although the single chair
bed in the living room was broken and
could only be used as a chair, we were
still most happy with the house :)
Mark was very easy to work with and
we received our deposit back before
we even remembered about it!
We had a wonderful time and would
stay at Mark's home again and would
recommend it to anyone vacationing in
Avalon.

| I and 3 of my friends stayed at the condo between Christmas and New Years Eve. We had such a great, relaxing time. We played golf 2 days, went kayaking, sightseeing, shopping, it was wonderful. the best was having a home to cook our own dinner on NYE, then go out to some of the local bars, then celebrate at midnight on the casino walkway where we watched the fireworks show. Having the condo to relax in was the best, and you can walk to everything. Thanks Mark and Becky, we really needed that type of vacation and we can't wait to do it again. |

| We had a fabulous time on Catalina in October, 2000. The house is very close to the main shopping/restaurant boulevard, an easy walk of maybe 5 minutes. We had 2 adults and 2 children, and there was more than enough space. The kitchen was very well-equipped (I think they took some earlier suggestions!) and clean. My only criticism was that the carpets were in need of a good cleaning (even though they were vacuumed well). I think this was because we came at the end of the summer season, after numerous other guests. Everything else was great and we would have no hesitation to stay here again! Thanks. |

| My wife and I were looking for a place to get away for a week, and given that we have an 8-month-old, our options were limited. Above all, we were looking to relax and Catalina fills the bill as a great place to get away from the worries of life. The home is ideally situated, a close walk to everything in Avalon, but with enough distance to keep you away from whatever commotion there might be. (And in Avalon, commotion is limited to pretty much to cruise ship tourists and the occasional local fisherman who tips back one too many). The home is nicely furnished and the bedrooms have beautiful linens. We wpent a week here and ate the majority of our meals at home, saving some money. (Again, with an 8-month old, your excursion times are somewhat limited.) The home is reasonably priced compared to other rentals, and from what I saw, compares quite favorably in every respect. I would rent again. |

| We just returned from another great stay. This was our second time in this home. It was great to open the front door to famliar surroundings. We are making arrangements for 2009. We rent a house every other year and stay for a shorter period in the Pavillion Lodge on the "off" years.(A girls only outing) The home is great..I am afraid that we will outgrow it after 2009 with the addition of another grandchild. |

| Excellent rental unit, good location, everything within walking distance. Could use new BBQ and sleeper sofa. Sofa kept trying to eat us when we napped on it. Our 7 month old daughter enjoyed spacious living room wonce we moved coffee table out of the way. |

| Your place worked out really well for our family. With three young children, the location was perfect...just a short stroll to the beach, store, ice cream shop etc. It was nicely decorated and clean. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Some minor tips- your kitchen could use a few items to make cooking hassle free: a large skillet, sharp knives plus a sharpener, collander, and a washable, white plastic cutting board. |
